Red Hood and the Outlaws #14 Review

Red Hood and the Outlaws #14

Writer: Scott Lobdell
Art: Joe Bennett

Red Hodd and the Oulaws#14 is the first issue we have after Lex Luthor has made Bizarro more intelligent (and better looking) than his former self. The Outlaws are trying to get used to this new Bizarro as well as continue their fight against crime.

I liked the tone of the story from the get go. Scott Lobdell did an excellent job of setting the tone early. Yes this is the Outlaws, yes they are superheroes, but now they’ve got to deal with something no one ever has: an evolving Bizarro. I admit I loved the loveable brute from times before, but Lobdell gives us a brand new spin on Bizarro and I for one can’t wait to see where this is going.

Joe Bennett does an excellent job on the art. Its not too dark and gritty, which is not what this issue needed. Its just the right shade of brightness that complements the story greatly.

All in all not a bad issue at all. Not much “shock and awe” except maybe the ending, but no spoilers here my friends!
