Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #30 Review

Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #30

Writer: Robert Venditti
Artist: Patrick Zircher

Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #30 is the start of a new story arc entitled Mind Games where we are shown Hal returning to Earth on a mission that has to do with his old nemesis Sinestro. While on Earth, Hal meets his key witness, Superman. But all is not well as Hal soon discovers that there is more to this case and it involves none other than Hector Hammond, the dangerous criminal telepath.

This is my first review of a Hal Jordan story since the launch of Rebirth and I have to say I was not disappointed. I love the dialogue and flow of this story especially between Hal and the rest of the Corps. The dynamic and chemistry with the characters is awesome. It had me interested from start to finish. It’s just a great Green Lantern story period. The humor Mr. Venditti uses throughout the story, particularly with Hal and Superman, was especially entertaining.

The art is very well done here in every panel. The pops of color and bright tones that Zircher uses is absolutely great. There is a wonderful action sequence between Hal and Superman that has one of the best splash pages I ever seen. The characters just jump off the page and grab you and take you on an amazing visual ride.
