Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #26 Review

Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #26

Written by: Robert Venditti
Art by: Rafa Sandoval

The short-lived alliance between the Green Lantern Corps and the Sinestro Corps is officially over, but Jon Stewart isn’t going to let that slow the Green Lanterns down. Every Lantern is hard at work to make up for their smaller numbers, but a new threat is emerging behind the scenes from Old Genesis that will unite Orion with the Green Lantern Corps to face this mysterious new foe.

This issue is the first of four in a new story arc called, “Fall of the Gods”, and the story here does a great job of setting things in motion. It’s exciting enough to have the world of the New Gods collide with the Green Lantern Corps, but this new arc is made even more intriguing with the introduction of new villains and a Green Lantern we’ve never seen before. Venditti is also beginning to explore how the events of “Fracture” effected Earth’s Lanterns and their relationships with one another.

Rafa Sandoval is back on art (previously on “Quest for Hope” story arc), and does a great job as usual. His work really shines in the panels towards the end of the issue with Orion and the Mighty Metal Golems. Sandoval will be providing art for the rest of this arc, and this issue shows he’s a great fit for this story.
